CRVS can provide basic veterinary laboratory services in-house. Our clinic can complete milk cultures and basic fecal examinations in-house.
Milk cultures are plated to determine pathogen type (Staph. spp, Strep spp., Coagulase-Negative Staph. spp., Coliforms [E. coli, Klebsiella, and others], and Yeast and Fungi. Basic milk cultures have results within 24-48 hours. We can perform antimicrobial susceptibility on milk culture positive samples, but susceptibility is performed at the veterinarian and client discretion.
Basic Fecal examinations can be performed in-house to determine presence of parasites that can cause diarrhea and chronic weight-loss or poor weight gain.
Diagnostic Referral Laboratory Services
For other diagnostics that are not available in our clinic, we use several veterinary diagnostic laboratories to complete necessary testing for disease outbreaks and sale and export testing. Testing is available for diarrhea and respiratory outbreaks or problems, reproductive or abortion diagnosis, and cattle sale needs such as Tuberculosis (TB), Brucellosis, Tritrichomoniasis (Trich test), Johnes, and Bovine Viral Diarrhea virus (BVD) and more.
